Weekly Sabbath Torah Reading #53 Haazinu

10/09/2023 | Hollis Frances Articles of Faith | Uncategorized

In the Tree of Life Bible pages 1424-1425 there is a section titled, The Spiritual Significance of the Weekly Torah Reading. “Was the weekly Torah reading, which was introduced by Ezra the Scribe after the return of the exiles from Babylon (see Nehemiah 8), important to Yeshua and His disciples?…Our Messiah’s public ministry began, as described in the Gospel of Luke 4:14-21, with His being called up to a public Torah reading. The public reading of Scripture was also central to the weekly worship of the early Yeshua believing community as seen from passages such as 1 Timothy 4:13, 1 Thessalonians 5:27; and Colossians 4:16…..”

“…In Matthew 13:52, Yeshua said, “Therefore every Torah scholar discipled for the kingdom of heaven is like the master of a household who brings out his treasure both new things and old.”
